WHAT IS THE MIDWEST CATHOLIC FAMILY CONFERENCE?

The Midwest Catholic Family Conference is an annual event that takes place in Wichita, Kansas. The Midwest Catholic Family Conference has exciting programs for Adults, Young Adults, High School, Middle School & Children.

The Midwest Catholic Family Conference has reached thousands with its saving message of Christ’s love through an enhanced understanding of the role of the Catholic Church and its teachings in spreading this message. 

The Conference was initiated by Frank and Barbara Kelly in 1999 with the approval of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.  

OUTSTANDING SPEAKERS

ARCHBISHOP PAUL COAKLEY

Archbishop Paul S. Coakley was born in Norfolk, VA in 1955. Upon completing university studies Archbishop Coakley traveled to Europe and briefly considered a monastic vocation at the Abbey of Notre Dame de Fontgombault in France, before he returned to begin seminary studies for Diocese of Wichita in 1978. On December 16, 2010, Bishop Coakley was appointed by Pope Benedict XI as the fourth Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. He was installed as Metropolitan Archbishop on February 11, 2011. He will be the celebrant & homilist for Sunday Mass. 


FATHER JOHN LANZRATH

Vicar for Priestʼs, Fr. John Lanzrath will serve as moderator for the Speakers Panel. He has been involved with the Conference many years while serving the Wichita Diocese in various capacities. Ordained in 1988, Father earned a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from Romeʼs Gregorian University. While in Rome, he was spiritual director to the novices of Mother Theresa of Calcuttaʼs Missionaries of Charity. 


FATHER ANDREW WALSH

Fr. Walsh is in his third year as Spiritual Director. He will lead the outdoor Eucharistic Processions, Benediction and Night Prayer Saturday evening. A priest for the Diocese of Wichita, Father is parochial vicar at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Wichita. 

TERRY BARBER

Terry Barber is the founder of Saint Joseph Communications, and first recorded and popularized Dr. Scott Hahn's conversion story. He is also a founding Board Member of Lighthouse Catholic Media, and is a co-host for Reasons for Faith Live with Jesse Romero on EWTN Radio Network.

STEVE RAY

Steve and his wife Janet have been to the Holy Land over 100 times exploring, filming, and leading thousands of pilgrims. Steve is a regular guest on Catholic radio & TV including Catholic Answers, Ave Maria Radio, Relevant Radio & EWTN. 

Raymond Arroyo

RAYMOND ARROYO

Raymond Arroyo is an award-winning journalist, producer, and New York Times Bestselling author. As founding News Director and Lead Anchor for EWTN News, he is seen in more than 350 million homes on six continents each week and heard on more than 500 AM/FM affiliates and a stand alone Sirius channel throughout the US. Mr. Arroyo established EWTN News and The World Over Live in 1996, which he hosts from Washington DC each week. 

RACHEL BALDUCCI

Rachel Balducci is the author of How Do You Tuck in a Superhero and a co-host of The Gist on Catholic TV. She and her husband Paul have six children so she understands that life is an adventure that can sometimes feel like a pressure cooker.

TIM STAPLES

As a convert to Catholicism, Tim is committed to sharing with others the treasure he has found in the Church. Director of Apologetics and Evangelization at Catholic Answers, he is well-known for his knowledgeable and entertaining presentations.

JUDY HEHR

Using her sense of humor and examples from her personal life struggles, Judy generously and selflessly shares her gift of making the connection between theology and reality in our daily lives.


SCOTT HAHN

An exceptionally popular speaker and teacher, Dr. Hahn has delivered numerous talks nationally and internationally on a wide variety of topics related to Scripture and the Catholic faith. 

MONICA MILLER

Dr. Miller is the founder and Director of Citizens for a Pro-life Society—an activist pro-life group that she began in 1986. Dr. Miller is the author of several books and articles including Abandoned—The Untold Story of the Abortion Wars. Her most recent book The Authority of Women in the Catholic Church.  

REV DENNIS MC MANUS

Rev. Dennis McManus has taught at Georgetown University since 1997. He holds a masterʼs degree in historical ethics from Georgetown University and a doctorate from Drew University in historical theology.

Jim Cruise, Musical Comedian will perform Friday evening, August 4, 2017. The “Spoon Man” is a Published Author who offers a hilarious interactive comedy program for all ages. He gives a real stirring performance. Everyone will really eat him up. No bibs required. The “Spoon Man” has a totally clean act. He never uses dirty silverware. The “Spoon Man” will leave a lasting impression after playing on you (literally). It’s a spoonful of family fun.

6:00 PM: Conference Opening

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Draw strength, consolation and support from His presence. Feel the infinite love present in His heart in the Holy Eucharist. An Adoration Chapel will be available for private prayer.

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Reconcilation 

Priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance for all attendees. The High School Program and the Middle School Program will have an opportunity for Confession at scheduled times.

6:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Scheduled Talks are to be announced.

7:00 PM: PJ Anderson Live In Concert

8:00 AM - 7:00 PM: Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Draw strength, consolation and support from His presence. Feel the infinite love present in His heart in the Holy Eucharist. An Adoration Chapel will be available for private prayer.

8:00 AM - 10:45 AM: Reconcilation

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Reconcilation

Priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance for all attendees. The High School Program and the Middle School Program will have an opportunity for Confession at scheduled times.

8:30 AM - 10:00 PM: Scheduled Talks are to be announced. 

8:30 AM - 10:30 AM: High School, Middle School & Children's Programs

10:30 AM - 10:50 AM: Rosary

11:00 AM: Holy Mass

Experience the splendor of the Liturgy as a contingent of priests and seminarians concelebrate the Mass in Convention Hall, transformed into a holy space. A full orchestra and choir enhance the celebration. A Knights of Columbus Honor Guard in full regalia leads the procession. In preparation for the celebration, a Rosary will be prayed before each Mass.

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch Break

2:00 PM - 5:30 PM: High School, Middle School & Children's Programs

3:00 PM: The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy

In keeping with Our Lord’s request in His revelations to St. Faustina asking for special remembrance of His Passion, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed both Saturday and Sunday concurrently in Convention Hall and Expo Hall. The Lord attached extraordinary promises to its recitation.

5:30 PM - 7:00 PM: Dinner Break

7:00 PM: Outdoor Eucharisitic Procession

Join in this great public witness to our Faith and belief in the True Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. All are invited to take part in the Procession. Those children who have made their First Communion during the year may participate in formation of the Procession near the Blessed Sacrament. The procession will be followed immediately by Benediction. The service will close with Night Prayer – Liturgy of the Hours.

Sunday, August 6
